PDP reconciliation Committee hits Ohafia LGA.
Statewide reconciliation of aggrieved members of the People's Democratic Party in Abia State, kicked off today at Ohafia Local Government Area headquarters.
The Committee whose mandate is to reconcile, resolve and recommend possible ways to bringing back all aggrieved members back to the PDP family was constituted by the Governor of Abia State Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu.
The Committee has Rev.Architect Benson Ezem as Chairman and Rt.Hon.Chinedum Elechi as the secretary. Others are Chief Joseph Ogwo, Navy Capt.Osondu Christopher rtd. Chief J.C Mgbonu and others.
The trip to Ohafia was a successful outing as Stakeholders, Party faithfuls, aspirants who lost past elections in the Local Government etc took their turns to express themselves.
Issues raised by various speakers bother on inequality in sharing of elective positions, imposition of candidates, reward mechanism, godfatherism, concentration of projects among others.
The Chairman of the Local Government, Engr.John Eke, Bar.Umeh Kalu(SAN), Chief Dk Uduma, Chief Fred Eke, Chief Kingsley Imaga, High Chief Uche Ogboso were all present at the meeting. Others are Rev.Onyema Agbai, hon.MBA Ukaha, Chief Mrs Nnenna Obewu, Hon.Kalu Emeghe, Capt Awa Udensi , Bar.Udo Uduma, PDP youths leaders, women Leaders as well as other political office holders.
The team visited Chief Nnamdi Orji (Opotoyom) at his Abiriba country home who also welcomed the committee .The business guru explained why he left the party and necessary steps to be taken before he makes his final decisions.
The move was commended by members who saw it as a great opportunity to express their grievances and how to find a common ground for the success of the party.
Ikechukwu Iroha was part of the team to the LGA.
